You should see a damage increase being applied. When you have 100% stamina and after your friend heals, shoot them in the chest again. Shoot your friend in the chest and note the damage. Have you and your friends both take off ALL cards. The light-ups are nice but inconsistent with what actually happens in the game.
Don't trust the cards on the top right of your HUD.
